Practical Development 1

 In this post, I am going to talk about the practical development process which I focused on color theory.

 

In this activity, I did an experiment in color theory for skylights. As it is shown in the below drawing, I experimented on the lilac Pastel color pallet. Lilac color is warm color as it is made with a mixture of cool color and warm color, while the lavender color is a cool color as it is made with a mixture of cool colors. Apart from that, I added lavender, lilac, mauve, violet, purple, periwinkle and magenta colors to this color pallet. Lilac is a gentle color which suits for a bright color pallet(Canva’s Design Wiki, 2021). However, these colors symbolize the femininity and calmness. Therefore, I wanted to experiment on this color pallet in order to get an idea about its visual appearance and also for its functional purpose. 

 

My second  experimenting color pallet is 50s Dreamworld. This  color pallet contains the colors Misty Rose, Azure, Mimi pink, Alice Blue and lavender.  In 1950s the pastel colors very popular and which is why this color pallet called 50s dream world(Olesen, 2023).  In this color pallet contains mostly pinkish and bluish colors  and misty rose and Mimi pink symbolize the warm feeling. It also symbolizes the summary and spring like sense while the bluish colors symbolize the memories of ocean sunsets(Olesen, 2023). Thus, I decided to experiment on this color pallet as I wanted to give soothing and relaxing feeling from this colors to children.

The next color pallet , I experimented on was Egg Hunt color pallet. This color pallet is mostly inspired with the colors which are used in the children's egg hunt. In the Easter , egg hunt game is more connected with cheerful and playful pastel colors such lavender, Mimi pink, Maze , Uranian Blue and  Celadon(Olesen, 2023). However, this color pallet is more saturated . As it shown it conveys the sense of cheer fulness, playfulness and active sense. Since , my project is for children, this color pallet suits for their mind. 

 

The last color pallet is blue and yellow color pallet. In this color pallet there are light golden brown, medium light autumn gold, ultra very light mocha , medium light turquoise, medium antique blue and dark antique blue (Stitch Palettes, 2021). This colors symbolize the autumn sense and warm feeling. Thus, this color pallet also give a playful sense but also royal feeling.
