Final Reflection

In this post , I am going to reflect on this term project work.

In this term, I developed my skills as well as  recognised new skills. This term project helped me immensely in different ways. One speciality of this term is the block assessment method which means I had to finish assigned work within a time period which  have 3 weeks for each block. In the first block, I generated and developed new ideas to develop the project according to the project brief. So, my project is to design a pre school creche to facilitate for children of students and the staff of DMUIC. Therefore, I started to work for it from the first week to week ten. In the first three weeks, I generated and developed new ideas through different activities such as DEEPAI, experimental  class activities. Then, I developed and designed few ideas in to prototypes in order to take ideas to understand the purpose of the project. In this activity, I developed my skill in time managing and crafting skill. Moreover, in the second block , I started to develop the finalized design and experiment on different activities. I did several research on three inspirations, materials, colour psychology and sensory architectural principles. I worked on them in order develop my knowledge and understand how to apply these principles in to model.

Furthermore, through this research activity I gained a vast knowledge about the colour theory, psychology and sensory architectural principles. Along with them, I did few experiments on colour theory and pallets to understand how I can choose the correct colour pallets for the design. Then, I worked on the planning the design according to the location, scale and target market. However, one further step that I took is to design the model in SketchUp software. I designed it for the first time, and I learned it while doing experimenting and developed the model throughout the model. Not only that, but also, I worked on 2d outcomes such as concept sketches on the model as well on the playground, elevational drawings, sectional drawings and site plan. As I mentioned before, I designed the 3d model in SketchUp software. Thus, as an architect student I developed my skills as well as I learned new skills throughout this term. Moreover, I am looking forward to use these skills and knowledge in my further studies.
