3D prototype model making

During the week seven. I started to plan and make the prototype 3d model of the eco villa.

First, I utilized my final outcome of the elevational drawings as the referencing drawings and for the measurements and scales. I used these elevational drawings and my initial drawings because it helped me to understand to plan and make the prototype.

Then, I used cardboard as the main material for the model making. At first, it was quiet challenging and hard due to my lack of skill of crafting. However, my skill was developing throughout the process that I could manage the process. I measured all the parts such as walls, floors , windows and roofs according the same scale which is 1: 100.

Throughout the process, I was careful with measurements and scales because I wanted to understand how the model will look like after creating with the correct scale. However, I did a lot of mistakes such as forgetting to cut windows , cutting with wrong measurements. However, I could manage these obstacles such as redoing them and understanding and learning the lessons from the mistakes. Therefore, from this activity , I learned how to do a 3d modelling, analysing and understanding the problems and find solutions from experimenting. These are the final outcomes of the 3d prototype of the 3d model.

  1. Good effort for first prototype - how did doing this improve your understanding of the design? Do you think you are using the space well enough,? What about the environment around the design, is there anything else you need to focus on here?
