Expressionism: sketching
In the second session we went to the museum and had some experiences and explored the theme called "Expressionism". Here, I chose some particular masterpieces to do sketching and which were mostly focussed on buildings.
First, my eyes were caught by a painting of a cathedral. Here the cathedral was very simple but detailed which is telling something through the painting. The name of this painting is " the cathedral and st Severus church at Erfurt". Then, I started to sketch this painting in my sketchbook. This is the sketch.
Then, another piece of work that I noticed which was done by Lyonel Feininger. This painting is about a village and the colours are black and white. And the name of this piece is "Village ".
This is the sketch of the painting.
Then, I captured another painting which is a isolated building with only two trees. It showcases a sense of emptiness. This is the painting that I captured.
This is the sketch that I sketched.
Some interesting sketches here, but would like to hear more about the work and what you thought of it. Was there anything here that might apply to any of the project themes?
